Kazuko Blake

Kazuko is a retired professional seamstress and certified master of Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging. She visited Japan in 2019 for the first time since leaving in 1957, to watch her youngest daughter run in the Tokyo marathon. Before returning home to the US, they visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and seeing the efforts the people of Hiroshima have made to ensure the past is not forgotten, she was convinced to share her story.

Sandra Vega

Sandra is Kazuko's daughter. She is a veteran, an avid reader, and a grateful recipient of Kazuko's awesome parenting skills. She has wanted to document her mother's story for a long time and is happy to be a part of sharing it. Kazuko is a work of love and dedication.
